WELCOME to ReUNION, the association of former UNISON staff (previously AFNS). We are a social and friendship group providing support and opportunities for former colleagues to renew past friendships. If you are thinking of joining but want to check you eligibility, do get in touch.
Our quarterly ReUNION newsletter contains lots of information and news, but most importantly articles – reminiscences, opinions, experiences of work and retirement – written by our members. It is compiled and edited by our Newsletter Editor. While reproduced on this website in flip-over or print format, copies are emailed to members. A printed copy is also available for members who need it.
JOIN TODAY
Membership of ReUNION is open to anyone who was an employee, in any capacity, of UNISON or any of its partner unions (NUPE, NALGO, COHSE, BAOT, SHVA and any future partner union).
In addition to the opportunities for members to keep in touch by email and our Members’ Forum, ReUNION seeks to organise, each year, one event for members in every region. These events are organised by our Regional Contacts. See our who's who.
Members can share thoughts, opinions and experiences through the members Forum - a speedy way of communicating and ideal alternative to the newsletter for short articles.
Members can find the names of other members and contact them via the Member Directory. Members set their own privacy settings in their profile so that others can contact them if they choose, while keeping other details private.
MEMBER BENEFITS - GALLERIES
What better way to reminisce than by viewing images in our growing Member Galleries. Thousands of photos from union activity – marches and demonstrations, conferences and meetings, and ReUNION events. Members can grow the Galleries by submitting their own photos to the gallery editor.
MEMBER BENEFITS - DOCUMENTS, ADVICE & POLLS
Find advice on a range of issues relevant to our members, and useful documents. ReUNION is a democratic organisation – from time to time we seek members’ views on issues, and ask members to vote on substantive motions using online polling within the website.
WHOS WHO
ReUNION works on a voluntary basis. Its unpaid officers are all volunteers elected by members. The period of office is three years.
